Day twenty-three

When we woke up, Inigo had already left for camp, but I attacked Eli and Montco with hugs because they were leaving very soon.
After they left, we all showered and got ready and were picked up by Ana-Mari, one of dad’s cousins, and her husband. They took us to their mother’s house and she went nuts over seeing us and it was cute.
Then Ana-Mari and her husband took us on a bit of Pamplona, showing us the old defences and some of the shops and the place that makes the best tortilla. We had a drink with them and then went back to the aunty’s house for lunch, and also met her other son (the father of Oihane, who we went out with the other day).
So we had lunch with all of them and the paella was amazing and we had ice cream cake afterwards and it was the best food known to man. Also, Ana-Mari’s son Aritz showed up and we told him to come to Australia and he said he would but he needed to save money (like everyone else in Spain, it’s pretty tough here now) and then we left and came home to get ready to go out again.
Eli’s brother, Mikel, and his wife, Susanna, took us for a trip up a mountain to an art exhibition done by a friend of theirs. It was actually really good art with beautiful bold colours and dad considered buying one of the paintings for like 3000 euros and I told him that he was nuts and then we left.
We continued up the mountain and stopped for a drink and a chat and then went back down the mountain a bit to where we ate dinner. The restaurant was owned by other friends of Mikel and Susanna and they gave me the recipe of some of their gluten free biscuits so now I’m happy.
After that we went home and crashed, another long day.
