Woke up pretty late (becoming habit) and went in search of breakfast. Found a nice café that did omelettes and crepes and the world’s best French fries. After that, we went to the beach and tanned and stayed there for hours and hours sipping cocktails and chilling in the sun and occasionally dipping in the water. We also met some Aussies and shared travel experiences from different cities.
After that, we went back and spent hours getting ready to go out to the casino at Monte-Carlo. We walked to the train station in high heels (Nikki complained) and caught the train to another freaking country, and had amazing views of the Mediterranean Sea. We got out and walked along the beach looking at multi-million dollar boats, and eventually walked up to the casino.
It was very beautiful and we took photos and then went and had dinner just outside, and bought some souvenirs. After dinner, we went inside and had cocktails in a room with a mosaic ceiling, surrounded by sculpted angels “holding” massive chandeliers. Oh, and everything was painted in gold. It was incredible. Even the bar was made out of a massive mosaic.
After our glorious drinks, we went out to play the poker machines and we spent about an hour on $20 so we felt like we were doing well. Then dad wanted to play roulette and he lost $30 in 5 seconds. Legend.
We caught a taxi "back to the hotel" so we wouldn’t have to do much walking and it cost 90 euros which is crazy expensive but you know, it was a Mercedes, so that was nice. When we got "back to the hotel", we crashed, knowing we had to be up the next day for checkout.
