Day twenty-eight

Woke up late because we slept late (I didn’t mention the 1am maccas run for coffee, but it happened). Went out in search of juice for a breakfast/snack and a burger king for lunch (to make dad happy).

After that, we took a cab to the Sacred Family, a church that started construction a hundred years ago and still isn’t finished. It was pretty and all, but it looked very obviously to have been constructed in different time periods and many years apart. Parts showed signs of wear whereas others looked brand new, and it just didn’t really work. But good job Barcelona, I’m sure you tried hard.

We went and looked at some markets just outside the Sacred Family and I dropped a glass ornament, so now I have one that looks how it’s meant to, and one that has been dropped on the concrete outside the Sacred Family so it’s like an extra special souvenir, rather than a piece of crap… Or that’s what I tell myself anyway.

We had a coffee outside the church and then caught the metro to another part of Barcelona that dad wanted to check out. There was a beautiful art gallery but no one was bothered to walk up the stairs and thankfully we found an escalator. Once at the top, we just kind of walked around the gallery and looked at the view, because no one wanted to go in. After that we walked around everywhere and eventually found our way back to the hotel.

We chilled for a few hours (dad slept) and then we went out looking for dinner. We weren’t very hungry so we just found a place that sold tapas and had a few before hitting maccas for sundaes and cappuccinos. After walking around a little more, we came back home.

Should sleep now because we have to be up, packed, and out by midday tomorrow which sounds late, but in Spain, nothing is late.
